The Chicago Area Regional Competition has begun and we are actively looking for volunteers to help serve as a mentor or judge for the event. Prejudging of the computer cities and essays is scheduled for Saturday before the competition at HNTB's office (111 N. Canal St., Suite 1250, Chicago) from 8am to noon. Preliminary judging of the presentations will be conducted the day of the competition on January 21st 2012.

Preliminary Judge: Serve as a preliminary judge for student's diorama model and presentation on the day of the competition at UIC. The judging will go from 8 a.m. to Noon. You will be asked to arrive early for a small training session and instructions on how to judge.
Essay and Computer Model Judge: Pre-judging for essays abstracts and Sim City Computer models the Saturday before the competition at HNTB's Chicago office. The judging will go from 8 a.m. to Noon. You must check in at he front desk in the lobby and show photo I.D. Breakfast will be provided.
Mentor: Work with a student team to build their model and prepare for the competition. We need engineers from all over the Chicago region to work with the students
Competition Support: At University of Illinois at Chicago Student Center East on the day of the competition and am willing do what ever task is needed.
Special Awards Judge: Select which teams meet the criteria for a Special Award on morning of the competition. Most of the special award sponsors typically provide judges but we are always looking for extra help with these judges.
