The OmniCAM processor is a super lightweight flexible device that attaches to the human temple with adhesive material. It is transparent, 1.5 centimeters in diameter, 2 millimeters thick, weighs .25 grams. The OmniCAM features a holographic projector, speaker, and contact pins for braille translation.
Physiological
processes power the OmniCAMs. Pulse sensors and heat monitors collect
energy generated by the human body. Surplus power is stored in cells and
used when energy demands are high. Verbal or telepathic commands activate
and controls the OmniCAM.
Ambassadors on Aquarius hold daily briefings detailing their nation's
problems, accomplishments, and goals. OmniCAMs construct, send, and receive
instant real-time communications in a variety of formats. For instance,
a text communication may be constructed and sent in standard English by
an American Ambassador and translated instantaneously as either a hologram
image, sign language, braille, audio, or text communication by a foreign
Ambassador.
The OmniCAM utilizes a flexible bandwidth technique and data compression software. The network software compresses the communicate ion data, dynamically allocates spectrum using the flexible bandwidth technique, and directs the communication to the appropriate OmniCAM(s).
The Communications Command Center (CCC) is located in the Aquacorporate Headquarters. The CCC monitors, maintains, and repairs the OmniCAM network. A technical response team devoted to the CCC incorporates the following: biomedical, software, electrical, materials, and systems engineers.
Security
of sensitive communications is a major concern. A skin sensitive deoxyribonucleic
acid (DNA) recognition system confirms the authenticity of an individual
and activates only his/her OmniCAM. This system is capable of distinguishing
bona fide DNA from counterfeit DNA. Encryption software prevents unauthorized
access, tampering, or eavesdropping.
Secure buildings are constructed with state of the art retinal scan technology
to limit physical access. Lightweight RF shielding is utilized in the
construction of secure buildings to contain appropriate communications
and prevent unacceptable interference.
Base
and mobile equipment conduct periodic functional tests confirming proper
system function. OmniCAMs incorporate fully redundant transmitters/receivers.
In the event of an OmniCAM failure, a backup takes over and alerts the
command center, and a replacement is shipped to the user. Base stations
are located inside every building providing ubiquitous coverage throughout
the city.
OmniCAM provides a highly secure and reliable communications network.
As such, it serves to enhance Aquarius mission.
