EDUCATION: B.Sci., mechanical engineering and materials science, Duke University
CURRENTLY: Third year, Harvard Law School. Accepted job at Foley & Lardner, LLP as patent prosecution lawyer in their mechanical and electromechanical devices team.
After I graduated from Duke University Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science, I went directly to law school.
I'm in my third year at Harvard Law School and have accepted a job at Foley & Lardner, LLP in Boston to practice intellectual property law as a part of Foley’s Mechanical & Electromechanical Technologies practice group.
My experience with Future City was my first introduction to engineering. The competition sparked my interest in the field and was one of the deciding factors in my decision to major in engineering rather than economics. That decision opened many doors, including, being co-president of Duke’s Pi Tau Sigma (the mechanical engineering honor society) chapter, conducting research at NASA’s Langley Research Center during my senior year, and the opportunity to practice intellectual property law at a firm renowned for its intellectual property practice.
It is always nice to be reminded of the great experience I had participating in the National Engineers Week Future City Competition.
