Shirley Newman teaches English and French and serves as Level Chair at St. Thomas More School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and is a technical writer for the Baton Rouge Police Force. In her career she has taught middle school, high school, and college in Mississippi, Texas, and Louisiana. She holds a B.A. in English and French and a Masters in Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. Among her career honors are Phi Theta Kappa, the National Scholastic Fraternity, Lambda Iota Tau, the National Literary Society, Phi Delta Phi, the National French Honor Society, and inclusion in Who's Who in America, Who’s Who of American Women, and Who’s Who of American Educators. In her free time she enjoys off-shore fishing with her family on the Mississippi Coast.
