CURRENTLY: Supervising engineer at The Armbruster Company in Chicago, specializing in the restoration of historic architectural concrete.
I am currently the supervising engineer at a precast concrete plant producing 8,500 architectural precast concrete components for the historic restoration of the Baha’i House of Worship, in Wilmette, Illinois.
The Baha'i Temple is one of the finest examples of architectural concrete in the world. I manage the technical aspects of the shop, production scheduling, concrete mixes, quality assurance systems, mold design, shop drawings, reinforcing and anchor placement, shipping and installation logistics, safety reviews for equipment and personal, aggregate crushing and aggregate screening. The project requires 300 different molds ranging from six-foot by six-foot wall cladding, to garden benches, to cornice elements, all with highly detailed ornamentation in exposed aggregate concrete. During the past three years I have worked for The Armbruster Company, Inc. on the restoration of historic architectural concrete.
